Report: Jason Collins had NBA's top selling jersey on Tuesday
Jason Collins' return to the NBA and subsequent debut with the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday established him as the first openly gay player to play in a game in one of North America's four major recognized team sports.
The quantity of media coverage of Collins' story has been enormous, most of it favorable. There are small pockets who seem to be resisting the change afoot in professional sports, but for the most part, support seems to be significant.
To wit: Collins' No. 98 Nets jersey was reportedly the NBA's top-selling jersey on Tuesday.

Now, that might indicate a strong and financially-vocal minority, but in all likelihood, it's a barometer of the level of acceptance in the league's fanbase.
