Bobcats introduce 'Big Al's Paint' to try and get Jefferson on All-NBA team
Al Jefferson was named one of the NBA Players of the Month for the month of March following a fantastic stretch that saw the big man average 24.7 points and 10.6 rebounds.
With the Bobcats surging - they're now just a game below .500 at 37-38 and 20-13 since Jan. 18 - Jefferson has started to get some love for potential inclusion on an All-NBA team.
If that seems somewhat surprising, consider the numbers: Jefferson is averaging 21.6 points and 10.4 rebounds while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor, and he's managed 66 games since an early ankle injury. With the Bobcats over-performing relative to expectations and coach Steve Clifford finding a defensive system that works with Jefferson - the Bobcats are sixth in the NBA in defensive efficiency - the case is pretty easy to make.
To help make the case ever further, the Bobcats have launched Big Al's Paint, a website designed to get Jefferson some attention for his play. The First Name in Old School Game is perhaps the best tagline ever.
Once on the site, you can click on a number of sub-sections like Shades of Big Al (his repertoire), Customer Reviews (quotes from opposing coaches and players), Painting Tips (some interesting stats) and more. It's worth a few minutes of your time.
