Nets' Blatche on Raptors: 'Ross asked for this ... they've got to back up their words'
Andray Blatche has a message for the Toronto Raptors: don't send e-money transfers that your basketball team can't cash.
Or something. Whatever the online version of "your mouth is writing checks that your ass can't cash" is. In any case, Blatche had some strong words for Terrence Ross and the Raptors on Wednesday night when it was determined that the two teams will square off in round one of the Eastern Conference playoffs:
Ross asked for this, so first of all they've got to back up their words.
...
I feel like we have a great chance in this series. We are a veteran team and playoffs is not about speed and young. It's about veteran play and smartness, and I feel like we've been playing great basketball lately. Everyone is healthy right now and I feel like we are going to be successful.
What Blatche is referring to, as you can read about below, is Ross responding to a fan on Reddit and saying that he, personally, would prefer to face the Nets in the opening round of the series.
But perhaps the 6-foot-11 Blatche should beware, because in the same Reddit session, Ross claimed, "I wish to posterize anybody over 7 foot." We're thinking he'd consider 6-foot-11 an acceptable substitute.
In any case, it's a nice bit of fuel to kickstart this opening round fire.
