Report: Mark Jackson doesn't have a single ally in Warriors' front office
It's sounding more and more like Mark Jackson's days as head coach of the Golden State Warriors are numbered.
Following Jermaine O'Neal's admission that the team's players are under the impression Jackson won't be back next season, the Warriors were eliminated from the postseason with a 126-121 loss in Game 7 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. And now, the reliable Adrian Wojnarowski is painting a picture of Jackson as a man whose demise is imminent.
Reports indicated that during the season, Jackson fell out of favor with Warriors adviser and Hall of Famer Jerry West, who carries a considerable amount of respect within NBA circles.
There's also the oddly-timed dismissal of two assistant coaches, including Brian Scalabrine, who Jackson demoted because of a "difference in philosophies."
Nothing is certain, but it now seems like few would be surprised if Saturday's playoff-ending loss was Jackson's last game with the Warriors.
