Analysis:
Smith's first year in Detroit actually came with a slight dip in his overall production. He spent the year playing small forward alongside big men Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. This could have been the cause of his nearly two rebounds per game slippage compared to last season with the Hawks. It's still unclear what the composition of Pistons will look like next season, but it is clear that Smith will be part of that make up, considering that he's locked in for the next three years.
