Tim Duncan added yet another milestone to his lengthy resume on Saturday night.
With 3:49 to play in the second quarter of the Spurs Game 3 matchup with Portland, Duncan sank the first of two free throws, giving him 4,762 career playoff points. That's enough to move him past Karl Malone for fifth on the NBA's all-time playoff scoring list.
Player | Games | Points |
---|---|---|
Michael Jordan | 179 | 5987 |
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar | 237 | 5762 |
Kobe Bryant | 220 | 5640 |
Shaquille O'Neal | 216 | 5250 |
Tim Duncan | 221 | 4776 |
Karl Malone | 193 | 4761 |
That's not the only area Duncan flexes playoff dominance, as he also ranks fourth in career playoff games with 221, third in rebounds with 2,603 and first in blocks with 534.
And, of course, he's one of just 36 players in league history to win four NBA championship rings, and he's looking to become just the 26th to win a fifth.
