Report: Vinny Del Negro interviews for Timberwolves head coach job
Minnesota Timberwolves president Flip Saunders interviewed former Los Angeles Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro for his open head coach spot, league sources told Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wolves owner Glen Taylor has been partial to Sam Mitchell, but Saunders is increasingly intrigued with Del Negro's candidacy, sources say.

The two met in Cleveland, where Del Negro was reportedly being courted by the Cavaliers for their coaching vacancy.
In his five years as head coach between the Clippers and the Chicago Bulls, Del Negro failed to reach the playoffs. He was fired by the Clippers after losing in the first round of the 2013 playoffs, despite recording 57 wins.
According to Woj, Saunders likes the idea that Del Negro can develop Ricky Rubio, as he worked with two of the league's premier point guards - Derrick Rose in Chicago, and Chris Paul in L.A.
ESPN's Marc Stein adds that after the collapse of Minnesota's talks with Dave Joerger of the Memphis Grizzlies, Del Negro is said to be emerging as a "serious candidate."
