Lamar Odom to begin training at Knicks facility Monday, could play at Summer League
Lamar Odom will begin his comeback attempt at the New York Knicks' training facility Monday, Marc Berman of the New York Post reports.
The 34-year-old, who last played in the NBA during the 2012-13 season, signed with the Knicks on the final day of the regular season. His deal includes a team option for 2014-15, allowing the Knicks to monitor his progression.
"He's coming to town this week," team president Phil Jackson said. "We know he's a really good basketball player.
"He wants to put himself back together, and he has a chance to do that by having the whole summer to work at it and getting himself back in basketball condition to play. He told me that's what he wants to do. Having a relationship with him. It's a pretty good risk-reward situation for us."
According to Berman, Odom could be on the Knicks' summer league roster, which will compete in Las Vegas from July 11-21.
