Analysis:
Smith's tweet followed the hiring of Derek Fisher as the Knicks' next head coach, so it's questionable that Smith may have been informed about his future starting position so soon. He is known for his slightly outlandish antics, so the comment should probably be taken with a grain of salt. Smith started 37 of the 74 games he played in last year for the Knicks, so he does have a claim to a spot in the starting lineup for the team, but again, until coach Fisher gives his take and we see how president Phil Jackson handles free agency and the draft, we're tempering our expectations as to which role Smith will have next season.
