Heat's Chalmers says struggles not related to impending free agency
As his teammates shared their concerns regarding his struggles during the NBA Finals, Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers addressed on Wednesday what wasn't causing his poor performance.
“I am not even thinking about that,” Chalmers told Sean Deveney of the Sporting News when asked if his impending free agency had become a distraction. “Whatever happens this summer, happens.”
As noted in the post below, Chalmers has been ineffective shooting and taking care of the ball through the first three games of the series, requiring his teammates to urge him to not lose confidence.
“It’s tough to actually let it go, it is tough to get away from it,” Chalmers said. “But at the same time, it gives me more confidence in myself that people are expecting it from me, people know what I can do, people know I am capable of doing this.”
