Kendrick Perkins thinks Kevin Durant should hit the weights; Do you even lift, bro?

Brett Davis / USA Today Sports

Kevin Durant won his first NBA Most Valuable Player award this season and helped take the Oklahoma City Thunder to within two games of defeating the eventual-champion San Antonio Spurs.

There's room for improvement, however, as Durant has been quick to point out after every season of his career. While it's hard to picture Durant getting any better, teammate Kendrick Perkins can think of one way that the league's leading scorer could be even more deadly: hitting the gym a little harder.

Here's Perkins, via The Oklahoman:

I feel like he could get stronger, in my opinion. I think that would help him a lot. I told him all the good and great players that played the game, from Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, they all put size on them, and it helped them.

Seems like there was possessions he was tired. But, like I said, I think that’s (when) getting in the weight room plays a factor. Cause then you could let your body take over.

In short, bro, you gotta start lifting.

According to the team's media guides, Durant has gained 25 pounds since entering the league, but his wiry frame suggests he could bulk up even further. He'd need to be careful not to go too far and risk losing the quickness that makes him so deadly, but a few pounds certainly wouldn't hurt.

As for Perkins, well, maybe focus on your own improvements so people can stop suggesting the team amnesty you, okay?
