The Portland Trail Blazers' bench just got even weaker.
Mo Williams has informed Portland that he will become a free agent, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.

The news isn't surprising, given guard Williams' comments in May. At the age of 31, the veteran point guard is looking to cash in on one more long-term contract while his play is still robust.
Last season, Williams averaged 9.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in 74 games. He served as a back-up to guard Damian Lillard, and in all likelihood, will continue to serve as a back-up regardless of his next destination.
The combo guard is able to play both guard positions, and is a serviceable three-point threat.
