The Mavericks have an opening at the guard position after trading Jose Calderon to the New York Knicks in a six player deal.
Thomas, a restricted free agent, has generated plenty of interest already, as the Detroit Pistons are said to be very active in their pursuit of the 5-foot-9 point guard in addition to the Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings.
In his third season with the Kings, Thomas averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 assists over 72 games last season.
