Shoulder injuries be dammed, the San Antonio Spurs are set to take care of their sparkplug point guard anyway.
This will make @Patty_Mills shoulder feel better. He and the Spurs have agreed to a 3-year contract. #Spurs

Deal for Spurs' Patty Mills, I'm told, is in $12 million range over three years. One of my heroes @Buck_SA first reported the agreement

The Spurs are obviously taking a risk with their signing of Mills, who was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder on Tuesday. He is expected to miss at least seven months in recovery.
Mills, 25, was slated for his first go-around in free-agency this summer, but the news of his injury surely dampened his value around the league. In giving him security with three years on his deal, the Spurs will alleviate any pressure for Mills to return prematurely.
Last season, Mills averaged 10.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while sinking 42.5 percent of his three-pointers.
