Dante Exum hopes Jazz bring John Stockton in 'to teach me a few things'
No. 5 overall pick Dante Exum is eager to get working and get learning, and the first thing the Australian did after landing with the Utah Jazz was read John Stockton's autobiography.
We suppose there are worse places to start than the self-told tales of one of perhaps the greatest point guard ever and one of the best two players in franchise history.
Exum isn't going to stop there, however, as the point guard is hoping the team will take the step of getting him some one-on-one time with the author-slash-legend.
"I hope I get to talk to him, and the Jazz bring him in to teach me a few things," Exum told the Salt Lake Tribune. "It's something I want. I haven't said anything yet."
Stockton worked with Trey Burke and Alex Burks last season but did so at his home in Washington rather than in Salt Lake City. Exum's father Cecil roomed with Stockton at the Portsmouth Invitational in 1984, so a family trip to the west coast doesn't seem out of the question.
First comes Summer League, however, which begins in Las Vegas on Saturday for Exum and the Jazz.
