It's always a good PR move to bring back World Peace.
Small forward Metta World Peace, that is. The Knicks have discussed extending a training-camp invitation to the former Knick, as relayed by Marc Berman of the New York Post.
The 34-year-old World Peace was waived by the Knicks in February last season. He appeared in 29 games, scoring 4.8 points and grabbing two rebounds per game.
World Peace also has ties to Knicks president Phil Jackson, as he played under Jackson's tutelage as a Los Angeles Laker. In his prime, World Peace was an elite perimeter defender, but aside from his grit and tenaciousness, his age has robbed him of his foot-speed, rendering him fairly ineffectual.
The always-entertaining World Peace had previously suggested East teams could use "some seasoning and salt," and rumors have long had the former Ron Artest interested in returning to Gotham.
