The reality of being in the NBA is still sinking in for Chicago Bulls rookie Doug McDermott.
"This last week playing with Derrick Rose, just seeing those guys around the facility, that's a 'whoa moment,'" McDermott told Matt Moore of CBS. "That's probably got to go away though, because you've got to get used to it. It's not going to change. I've just got to continue to have fun with it and not look at them as a fan but as a teammate now."
Selected 11th overall by the Denver Nuggets and flipped to the Chicago Bulls along with Anthony Randolph for a pair of first round picks (Jusuf Nurkic and Gary Harris) and a future second, the Creighton alum got his first taste of the pro level at Las Vegas Summer League, where he averaged 18 points, four rebounds and 2.8 assists over four games and was named a first-team All-Star.
