PHOTO: Paul George donates No. 24 gear to his old high school
There were probably a lot of fans worried when Paul George began teasing a change in jersey number a few weeks back. With George officially making the move from No. 24 to No. 13 on Monday, those fans are surely disappointed.
And who are we to say "probably?" George ranked 14th in the NBA in jersey sales this past season, so there are certain to be a good number of people with outdated jerseys, now forced into convincing themselves they own a throwback George jersey.
While some are disappointed, though, there are several hundred lucky teens ecstatic with the change.
On Wednesday, George began retweeting several photos of fans thanking him for gear, as George apparently bought out the remaining No. 24 merchandise from adidas and donated it all to Knight High School in Palmdale, Calif., where he played his high-school ball.
That's a really cool gesture from George, and hopefully it's earned him some positive karma he can apply to his recovery.
