VIDEO: High school Kobe Bryant takes over for Lower Merion
Anyone who's paid attention to the NBA over the last 15-20 years knows all about the legend of Kobe Bryant, aka Black Mamba, and there's a ton of footage out there for anyone who hasn't.
But what about the lore of young Kobe?
Via Lakers Nation, here's some rare footage of a junior year Bryant absolutely taking over and dominating a game for Lower Merion High in Philadelphia, finishing with 35 points, 12 rebounds and a bevy of ice-cold, fourth-quarter daggers in a win over Norristown.
As you can see, in addition to Bryant's mature three-point stroke and short jumper, his media game was already on point, too.
Bryant averaged 31.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in his junior year at Lower Merion before leading the school to a state championship as a senior and declaring for the 1996 NBA Draft.
