Nene gives Anthony Davis a 'Street Fighter'-inspired nickname
Count Washington Wizards center Nene among those impressed with blossoming (or already blossomed) star Anthony Davis.
Davis dropped 20 points and eight rebounds on Nene in Team USA's 95-78 exhibition victory over the Brazilians on Saturday, a tune-up for the 2014 FIBA World Cup tournament. After the game, NBA.com's Steve Aschburner caught up with Nene, who had a comparison for Davis.
"He looked like Dhalsim," mused Nene. "The Street Fighter. Like a cartoon. With both hands. He was catching everything."
For those unfamiliar with the Street Fighter franchise, Dhalsim is a fighter whose main attribute is his superhuman length, which is presumably where the similarities with Davis – who boasts a superhuman 7-foot-5 wingspan – starts and ends. That is, unless Davis can also spit "Yoga Fire."
