2010 - Lithuania overcomes 18-point deficit to beat Spain at FIBA World Championship
Down 18 points at the first half, Lithuania turns things around in the final two frames of their Group D encounter against reigning champions Spain and pull off a remarkable 76-73 win.
The comeback is fuelled by a 23-5 Lithuania run that ties the score at 66 with 5:25 left in the game, and cemented by Linas Kleiza scoring four points in the final 35 seconds. After Kleiza sinks two free throws with under four seconds remaining and giving Lithuania a three-point lead, Spain's Raul Lopez scrambles down the court and sees his pass deflected out of bounds.
Kleiza finishes with a team-high 17 points to go with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Martynus Pocius and Jonas Maciulis each add 13 points of their own for Lithuania.
On Spain, Marc Gasol and Juan Carlos both post a game-high 18 points.
Lithuania goes on to reach the semifinals before falling 89-74 to Team USA, while Spain is eliminated in the quarterfinals after falling 92-89 to Serbia.
