VIDEO: Giannis Antetokounmpo steals ball, goes coast-to-coast, finshes and-1 layup
So far in World Cup play, Greek 19-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo is giving hoops fans around the world a taste of the preposterous physical gifts that made him such an NBA darling in 2013-14 (even as he spent most of the season ironing out myriad kinks in his extremely raw game).
His latest display came in Monday's contest against Puerto Rico, when in the fourth quarter he stripped former NBAer Renaldo Balkman, corralled the loose ball on the run, galloped (Giannis never just runs) the length of the floor, collected his dribble around the free-throw line, got hacked mid-flight and rolled in the and-one layup with a fully-extended go-go-gadget arm.
The scary thing is how easy he makes it look.
Greece, for the record, won the game 90-79 (with Antetokounmpo chipping in 15 points) and improved to 3-0 in pool play. They'll face their stiffest test yet on Wednesday, when they take on Croatia.
