Robin Lopez on brother Brook: Nets 'probably didn’t want him around the team'
The Lopez Brother Showdown set for Saturday night continues to have more fuel added to the fire.
Brook Lopez and his Brooklyn Nets will visit twin brother Robin Lopez and his Portland Trail Blazers, marking the eighth time the siblings have squared off in NBA action, and the first time since March, 2013. Over the weekend, Brook started the trash talking by calling Robin an idiot and a moron (see the post below).
Robin has some thoughts of his own about Brook, as he told Jabari Young of CSNNW.com on Tuesday:
I expected a little bit more from him, but I guess that’s the best he can come up with.
...
It’s no surprise that they held him out as long as they did last year. I’m sure people were just sick of traveling and being around him. So, they probably didn’t want him around the team or anything.
So Brook didn't actually miss 65 games with a broken foot, the Nets just didn't want him around? That's good smack talk. Hopefully there's more ahead of thes meeting, though it's unlikely any of this is serious enough to get a Lopez-Lopez shoving match on the court.
It does make one wonder, though, if there are some Lopez family Boyfights home videos out there.
