Nick Young receives flop warning from NBA
Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports
Los Angeles Lakers' guard/forward Nick Young received a warning Thursday for violating the NBA's anti-flopping rule, the league announced.
The alleged flop occurred during the Lakers' game versus the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, Young's season debut. Young drew a foul on the Hawks' Kyle Korver while attempting a corner three, despite video evidence appearing to show no contact on the play.
A second flop violation results in a $5,000 fine. Increasing penalties, including potential suspension, would follow if further violations occurred.
The 3-9 Lakers are 2-0 since Young returned. He's averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench.
