The Chicago Bulls will be shorthanded when they travel to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, as Pau Gasol will miss his third consecutive game due to a calf strain, reports Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago.
The Spaniard was initially hopeful that he could play, but is erring on the side of caution. The 34-year-old is enjoying a strong season, averaging 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
In addition to Gasol, the Bulls will also be without point guards Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich, who are dealing with a strained hamstring and a chest contusion, respectively.
