Miami Heat power forward Chris Andersen left Sunday's game against the Charlotte Hornets with a right ankle sprain and won't return.
Initial X-rays on the ankle were negative, according to the team.
Andersen - who was limited to just two minutes of action - came down awkwardly and rolled his ankle after trying to corral a rebound late in the first quarter.
The veteran entered the contest averaging 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game.
