Pacers' Hibbert out Saturday vs. Cavaliers
Sam Sharpe / USA Today Sports
Though there were earlier reports that he might be able to suit up, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert was ruled out Saturday for a fourth consecutive game due to a sprained left ankle.
Ian Mahinmi drew the start in Hibbert's place as the Pacers take on the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
In a small stroke of luck - a rarity for Indiana this season - the Cavaliers are also without their starting center, as Anderson Varejao was ruled out with a rib contusion.
After slumping badly in the back half of 2013-14, Hibbert has started this season with a flourish, averaging 13.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks (second in the NBA), while helping a comically undermanned Pacers to a respectable 7-9 start.
