1990 - Larry Bird notches 20,000th career point
Larry Bird leads the Boston Celtics to a blowout win over the Washington Bullets and records his 20,000th point in the process.
Bird becomes the fifth player in NBA history to amass 20,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 5,000 assists, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, John Havlicek, Oscar Robertson and Jerry West.
1996 - Michael Jordan joins 25,000-point club
Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan becomes the 10th player in NBA history to reach the 25,000-point mark in a 97-88 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Jordan, the latest member of the prestigious club, reaches the milestone in 782 games, faster than any player in history except Wilt Chamberlain, who did it in 691 games.
Jordan goes on to lead the Bulls to their first of three consecutive titles later in the year.
