Kevin Garnett to rest Wednesday, miss possible final meeting with Tim Duncan
This is unfortunate.
Kevin Garnett will rest Wednesday, sitting out the Brooklyn Nets' home game against the San Antonio Spurs. It's hard to fault the Nets for giving their 38-year-old the odd night off, but the timing is downright ridiculous.
Wednesday marks just the second time in 17 games Garnett has sat for rest, and both times have been against the Spurs. That's killer for long-time NBA fans, as it means they've been robbed of what may have been the final two meetings between Garnett and Tim Duncan.
The two legendary power forwards have been inextricably linked throughout their careers, and it would have been nice to see a 44th and final meeting. You can read more about their head-to-head history in the post below.
As it stands, Mirza Teletovic could draw the start at power forward, as he did in the last game Garnett missed.
