John Wall poured in 26 points, 17 assists, seven rebounds and three steals to lead the Washington Wizards to a double-overtime victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday. The All-Star point guard also had more than basketball on his mind.
Earlier in the day, a 6-year-old leukemia patient named Miyah, who Wall befriended this year, passed away.
Following the win, as an emotional Wall barely made it through his postgame interview, he dedicated the win to Miyah and said he would give his game-worn uniform to her family.
Wall later posted a Twitter tribute to his friend.
