Cavaliers beat shorthanded Grizzlies
The Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to round into form. They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies by a score of 105-91 on Sunday night to push their record to 11-3 over their last 14 contests.
The Grizzlies were short two members of their starting five, as both Tony Allen and Zach Randolph sat due to injury. Their absence was felt, especially on the defensive end, as they allowed Cleveland to shoot 60.5 percent from the field.
The Cavaliers were led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, who both recorded double-digit assists, a feat that hadn't been accomplished by a pair of Cavaliers since 2010. They also chipped in with 25 and 17 points, respectively.
Dion Waiters came off the bench to drop 21 points.
Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies in scoring with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Grizzlies' woeful performance from beyond the arc. The Grizzlies shot just 1-for-16 from three (6.3 percent).
The loss moves the Grizzlies to 21-6, while the Cavaliers improve to 16-10.
