Carter-Williams has one of season's worst games in loss to Jazz
There have been a lot of rough nights for the Philadelphia 76ers over the last two seasons, but there may not have been one as bad as the one Michael Carter-Williams had on Saturday.
The Sixers lost 88-71 to the Utah Jazz to fall to 4-25, which is hardly surprising. How they got there was quite astounding, with the reigning Rookie of the Year turning in one of the worst stat lines the league has bore witness to all season.
Carter-Williams finished with eight points, four rebounds and six assists, which sounds fine except that he shot 2-of-20 and turned the ball over six times in the process. His shot chart looks like a straight edge kid's trapper keeper.
To put the 2-of-20 into perspective, it's the worst shooting performance of the season for any player who took at least 15 field goal attempts. He's also the first player to turn the ball over six times while shooting less than 22 percent from the floor this year, and his combined missed field goal attempts and turnovers (23) is tied for the third-highest of the season, behind only poor outings from Kobe Bryant and Russell Westbrook.
It's just a bad game, but it speaks to how Carter-Williams has struggled to improve on his impressive rookie season.

Just because someone is the elder statesman as a sophomore on a rebuilding team doesn't mean they, too, aren't still developing, it turns out.
