Pelicans' Gordon could be close to returning

Shooting guard Eric Gordon has been out of the New Orleans Pelicans' lineup for more than a month. However, it appears he's close to returning to full-team practices, according to Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Hogan added that Gordon - who is recovering from a torn labrum in his shoulder - hasn't run into any obstacles with his shooting mechanics, but is managing pain.
Gordon and the Pelicans have decided against surgery for the time being. The oft-injured guard was averaging 9.5 points before going down.
