76ers' Michael Carter-Williams to sit Saturday after aggravating shoulder
The Philadelphia 76ers will be even shorter than usual on NBA-caliber talent when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.
Sophomore point guard Michael Carter-Williams has been ruled out, according to multiple sources.
Carter-Williams reportedly aggravated his right shoulder during Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns. That's a bit concerning, since it's the same shoulder he underwent surgery on in the offseason, which cost him all of training camp and the first seven games of this campaign.
The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year has been a muddle of good and bad tendencies in his second season. He's carrying an abysmal 43.9 True Shooting Percentage and is turning the ball over an obscene 4.8 times per 36 minutes, but he also ranks eighth in the league in assists per game (7.8) and second among all point guards in rebounding (6.4). He's one of just four players to have posted two or more triple-doubles.
The 76ers lost all seven games Carter-Williams missed this season, and are a combined 1-18 without him since he entered the league.
Tony Wroten will start in his place.
