Samuel Dalembert clears waivers

Veteran center Samuel Dalembert has cleared waivers and is now an unrestricted free agent, according to USA TODAY Sports' Jeff Zilgitt.
Dalembert was waived by the New York Knicks on Monday, as New York would have been on the hook for his full $4,051,527 salary had he not been moved or waived by Jan. 10. His deal was only $1,885,755 guaranteed before that date.
Dalembert averaged 4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 17 minutes with the Knicks. The 33-year-old is a virtual non-factor on the offensive end and isn't the shot-blocker he once was, but can still provide some rim protection in small doses for a contender.
