NBA commissioner says ads on jerseys are 'inevitable'

They have long been a mainstay in European sports leagues, and NBA commissioner Adam Silver says it's only a matter of time before his league has jersey sponsors.
"I do think it's inevitable," Silver said Wednesday in London, as the NBA geared up for its Global Games matchup between the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks. "Exactly when it's going to come, I'm not sure."
The Knicks' D-League affiliate in Westchester is wearing jerseys sponsored by Chase this season.
To date, none of North America's "Big Four" sports leagues - the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL - have adopted jersey sponsors.
