Knicks sign Lance Thomas to 2nd 10-day contract

The New York Knicks don't want to mess with what's finally worked, apparently.

In the two days since snapping their franchise-record 16-game losing streak, the Knicks have re-upped a pair of players working on 10-day contracts. On Tuesday, that was veteran journeyman Lou Amundson, and on Wednesday, Lance Thomas was given his second deal as well.

Teams can only sign players to two 10-day contracts, after which they need to make a decision on whether or not to keep the player for the remainder of the season.

That's unlikely for Amundson, but a case could be made for Thomas who has a higher upside. Still just 26 in his fourth partial season in the league, Thomas impressed some as a spot-starter for the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier in the year and has looked steady in a pair of outings with the Knicks, scoring 11 points with seven rebounds and three assists in 40 minutes.

A 6-foot-8 combo forward, Thomas can muck up spacing on the offensive end but hits the glass well enough and is long enough to provide disruption on defense.
