Well, it's hard to blame them.
TNT has dropped the March 12 national broadcast of a game between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, meaning the 7-36 Knicks are now completely off the national television schedule for the rest of the season.
With Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant both uncertain to be playing by mid-March, and the two marquee franchises a combined 19-67, it's probably a prudent move. It also comes just days after ESPN dropped the Super Bowl Sunday national broadcast of this season's other Knicks-Lakers showdown.
The kicker for the Feb. 1 game is that it's been replaced on the schedule by a celebrity bowling event. Yup, it's that kind of season for two of the NBA's most prominent teams.
