Mario Chalmers receives flop warning
The NBA's flopping prevention initiative is not getting through to Mario Chalmers.
The Miami Heat point guard was issued a warning from the league this week for an incident in Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. On the play in question, Chalmers took a pretty egregious dive after receiving a little bit of contact from Jerryd Bayless crossing half. Bayless, the ball-carrier, did lean into Chalmers a bit, but the dramatic dive that followed was excessive.
This isn't the first time Chalmers has drawn eye rolls for his theatrics. On Feb. 6 of last season, Chalmers was fined $5,000 for his second flopping violation of the season.
Each year brings with it a fresh slate, so Chalmers comes away without a fine in this instance. On his next violation, he'll be fined $5,000, with the fine rising for each violation after that.
