Carter-Williams notches 3rd triple-double of season in win over Wolves
Michael Carter-Williams sure can stuff a stat sheet.
The Philadelphia 76ers' sophomore recorded his third triple-double of the season Friday, tying him with Rajon Rondo for the league lead. Carter-Williams also had two a season ago, and Friday's outing moves him into a tie with Lance Stephenson for the most triple-doubles since Carter-Williams entered the league at five.
The reigning Rookie of the Year had 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished 10 assists, helping the Sixers to a 103-94 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It's little surprise to see Carter-Williams among the league's leaders in triple-doubles given how often he fills up each column of the box score. As a rookie, he averaged 16.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists, numbers that clock in at 15.3, 6.1 and 7.3 this season. He's not the most efficient scorer or distributor yet, and Philly's lack of talent and fast pace afford him additional opportunities, but the numbers are impressive nonetheless.
