Report: Nuggets pushing Nets for Lopez
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
The Denver Nuggets were reportedly interested in on-the-block Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez a week-and-a-half ago.
That interest continues, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Denver, I'm told, has been pushing an offer of J.J. Hickson/JaVale McGee for B-Lopez. Nets have so far been firm in their refusal to take it
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) January 31, 2015
"Firm in their refusal to take it" is the operative phrase in this report, because it's a borderline laughable trade offer. Neither J.J. Hickson nor JaVale McGee provide much in return, outside of occasional comic relief from the latter.
To make matters worse, both are on the books for next year to the tune of a combined $17.6 million. The Nets may need to shake things up, but this is ridiculous.
