Wolves' Saunders didn't approve Love, Miller video: 'We should be above that'
Look, as much as he expects to get booed in his return on Saturday, Kevin Love had some good times as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As such, head coach and president Flip Saunders was unhappy with a video released on Thursday that hyped the return of Mike Miller to Minnesota, ignoring Love's return as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers entirely.
"Didn't know about it, didn't approve it," Saunders said of the video, which was produced by the team's live event staff, not their P.R. group. "As an organization, we should be above that."
While Love was said to have laughed at the passive-aggressive dig, Saunders questioned whether the San Antonio Spurs would produce such a video, saying he's been dealing with the matter internally since the video was released.
It's all in good fun, and Love seems to have a sense of humor about it, but Saunders' perspective is understandable, too. He's trying to move the Wolves in a new direction without Love, who more or less forced his way out of town this offseason, and making his return seem like an even bigger deal works contrary to that.
