VIDEO: Dion Waiters misses breakaway layup
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports
Dion Waiters sure isn't making a case for all those touches he's always asking for.
For the second time this week, Waiters completely botched a wide open breakaway on Saturday, missing the easiest layup imaginable against the Memphis Grizzlies. Luckily, the newest Oklahoma City Thunder acquisition had nobody around him, allowing him to corral the rebound and lay-in his own miss.
For a guy always wanting the ball more, Waiters' 37.7 percent mark from the floor in Oklahoma City runs contrary to his goals. The Thunder seem to have faith he'll come around, playing him 27.4 minutes over his first 11 games, during which he's averaged 11.2 points.
But that field goal percentage. Woof.
