VIDEO: LeBron and Wiggins trade tough baskets against each other
While most of the focus has been on Kevin Love's return to Minnesota for the first time as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, it's been the player received in return for Love that's been most worth watching.
Rookie Andrew Wiggins - the No. 1 pick in June's draft and the primary piece the Minnesota Timberwolves obtained in return in the Love trade - has been impressing more and more as the season's rolled along. That goes on both ends of the floor, with Wiggins even earning the LeBron James assignment on Saturday, a trial by fire if there ever were one.
Wiggins was game, but there is just no defending certain things James can do on a basketball court. To wit, James hit this ridiculous turn-around jumper after Wiggins defended a post-up move fairly well:
But Wiggins has been playing well offensively, too, and after he got out to a hot start Saturday, James was tasked with containing the freshman. Just moments after James hit the jumper over Wiggins, the Canadian responded with a nifty basket of his own, faking his way past James and into the lane for a layup.
Present, meet the future.
