Report: Pistons close to signing John Lucas III to 10-day deal

The Detroit Pistons are apparently close to shoring up their depleted depth at point guard.
The Pistons are said to be nearing an agreement with free-agent point guard John Lucas III on a 10-day contract, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Lucas played with the Utah Jazz last season and averaged 3.8 points and one assist in 14.1 minutes per game. The 32-year-old lead guard stands at only 5-foot-11, but has the veteran savvy that likely appeals to Pistons president and head coach Stan Van Gundy.
The move is undoubtedly in response to starting point guard Brandon Jennings's season-ending Achilles injury. The Pistons currently have only two options - D.J. Augustin and Spencer Dinwiddie - at point guard.
