Clippers' lose J.J. Redick with back spasms again
J.J. Redick's back issues just won't go away.
Less than a week after missing a game due to back spasms, Redick left the Los Angeles Clippers' game Monday in the second quarter due to the same issue. He was called questionable to return but never did.
The Clippers have to hope the injury won't linger, because they're painfully thin on the wings. Starting Jamal Crawford is a fine fill-in for the starting lineup, but it leaves their second unit devoid of scoring.
In 47 games, Redick is shooting 43.3 percent on 3-point attempts, averaging 14.7 points. He's a key piece of the team's top-ranked offense, providing spacing, pulling defenders away from doubles and the rim with his great off-ball movement, and helping lift the team's performance by 7.8 points per-100 possessions when he's on the floor.
Prior to leaving the game, Redick had played four scoreless minutes, missing his lone triple. Naturally, the team's offense struggled mightily in the first half.
