Report: Ray Allen to decide on team in next 10 days, lists 6 potential destinations
Nearly two-thirds of the way through the 2014-15 season, Ray Allen is finally nearing a decision regarding his playing status, a decision that increasingly seems to be less about if or when than about where.
Allen is expected to decide on an NBA team sometime in the next 10 days, and is considering six potential landing spots, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio.
One of those teams, unsurprisingly, is the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were Allen's most aggressive suitors in the offseason and employ former Miami Heat teammates LeBron James, Mike Miller and James Jones.
In addition to the Cavs, Allen has reportedly expressed interest in joining the respective conference-leading Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors, rejoining the four-time defending Eastern Conference champion Heat, re-uniting with former coach Doc Rivers on the Los Angeles Clippers, or keeping former teammate Paul Pierce company on the Washington Wizards.
The 39-year-old averaged a career-low 9.6 points with the Heat last season, but continued to shoot more-than-respectable percentages from the field (44.2) and 3-point range (37.5).
