VIDEO: Oladipo and LaVine trade 1st-round 50s
Now this, this is how you reignite the Slam Dunk Contest after a down year.
Victor Oladipo entered Barclays Center asking the crowd to get out of their seats, wearing a tuxedo top and singing a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York." He delivered as promised with the "New York, New York" dunk, a two-handed 360-degree-plus jam the likes of which the contest has never seen.
That may have been closer to a 540 than a 360, but Oladipo himself held up a sign that said "Mr. 360," confirming his spin for those curious.

Not to be outdone, Zach LaVine entered to the theme from "Space Jam," wearing a Tune Squad jersey no less. Not requiring the three attempts that Oladipo needed, LaVine nailed his self-alley-oop on the first attempt.
Not only was it a self-alley-oop, he also opted to go between his own legs on a reverse and needed to duck his head under the rim because he got so much height on the jump.
That's a pair of first-round scores of 50, and each dunker still conceivably has three dunks left, should they go head-to-head in the finals. Awesome.
