Report: Garnett rules out buyout, only considering 1 trade

Kevin Garnett may be traded before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET deadline, but the veteran big man will not be moving via contract buyout, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Garnett, who holds a full no-trade clause and must approve any potential deal, is in the final year of a contract that pays him $12 million.

He spent six seasons with Rivers as a member of the Boston Celtics, winning a championship together in 2008.

The one trade scenario Wojnarowski references is likely a proposed deal that was first reported Wednesday, in which the Minnesota Timberwolves would send Thaddeus Young to the Brooklyn Nets, giving Garnett the chance to end his Hall-of-Fame career with a T-Wolves franchise he spent his first 12 seasons with.

The 38-year-old, 20-year veteran is averaging 6.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 20 minutes per game for the Nets, who sit one game behind the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
