Pelicans' Anderson will miss 2-4 weeks with sprained knee
The New Orleans Pelicans will be hard-pressed to keep pace in their hunt for a playoff spot, as they will be without two key members of their frontcourt for the near future.
Power forward Ryan Anderson is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a sprained right MCL, reports David Aldridge of NBA.com.
Anderson sustained the injury on Saturday in a win over the Miami Heat. Mario Chalmers inadvertently stepped on Anderson's foot while contending for a rebound.
Anderson has struggled to find his range this season as he is shooting just 34.3 percent from deep this season. In 28.6 minutes per game, Anderson is averaging 14.6 points and 5.1 rebounds.
The Pelicans' woes are compounded by Anthony Davis's injured shoulder, which will sideline the Pelicans' starting power forward for one-to-two weeks.
New Orleans sits two games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder for eighth place in the West.
